Praetor is an anti-spam and content filtering firewall for MS Exchange Server that allows administrators to isolate messages or prevent them from being delivered to their recipients. Messages can be blocked or filtered through a variety of means; including rules based on a "banned attachments" list (such as the VBS-LOVELETTER worm), domain names, or key subject lines. The product itself acts as a filtering firewall outside the Exchange Server, preventing questionable messages from ever reaching it.

Praetor comes with a set of over 20 predefined rules for blocking known spam and viruses, in addition to the defined banned attachments list. To these rules administrators can add more to scan for proprietary information being sent to or from the company, vulgar language, or other mis-uses of the corporate E-Mail system. Administrators can also setup the business rules such that they are notified when questionable E-Mails are encountered.
