MessageScreen is a content filtering solution that acts as a messaging firewall, providing e-mail security for Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise, Lotus Domino, SendMail and other major messaging platforms. It helps organizations fight and reduce the amount of unsolicited, objectionable and destructive e-mail they receive by scanning for more than 8,000 spam-like characteristics, rather than creating simple rules to search for exact subject lines, sender addresses or other identical matches to content.

MessageScreen has separate settings for explicit content, such as pornography, and analyzes all e-mail for embedded images and HTML graphics to keep offensive content out of an organization. Its URL crawling capability scans and filters images referenced by hyperlinks.

MessageScreen intelligently identifies the newest spamming techniques using lexical scanning and heuristic scoring to analyze the message header, body and attachments for the latest tactics. To do this, it does not rely on blacklists or open source rules updates. Rather, IntelliReach's Spam Analysis Team analyzes thousands of messages each week to frequently update MessageScreen's scoring system whenever new spam tactics are identified. MessageScreen's rules and scoring are customizable, and updates occur automatically with no downloads or patches required.

MessageScreen filters e-mail and viruses at the gateway, before they can do damage by consuming network bandwidth and disk space. It can be deployed either inside or outside the corporate firewall, and it offers a web-based interface for management of quarantined messages by either administrators or users.
