Designed to end the problem of computer network abuse, eSniff 1100 from eSniff, Inc., is a plug-and-play hardware device that uses advanced linguistic analysis to identify inappropriate computer activity for management review. Categories of inappropriate activity include online shopping, pornography, substance abuse, hate speech, harassment, online gambling and stock trading. The unit can also monitor inappropriate business activities such as merger or acquisition data and release of confidential materials.

A company defines its own cyber-boundaries that stipulate what areas are off limits to employees. When an employee goes out of boundaries, the unit records that information; otherwise, privacy is maintained. The eSniff 1100 is designed for medium to large network environments of up to 1,000 users per device.
