NetIQ has announced the availability of NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator 6.3 and NetIQ Exchange Administrator 6.3.

Directory and Resource Administrator provides highly secure and automated administration of Windows NT and Active Directory environments. Through advanced delegation and powerful, policy-based management capabilities, Directory and Resource Administrator dramatically reduces administrative efforts and costs, increases security and protects the integrity of the data in your Windows NT 4 SAM and Windows 2000 Active Directory.

New features include the "recycle bin" which enables administrators to safely and securely "undelete" previously deleted user accounts, advanced scalability and load balancing, enhanced reporting and auditing of administrative actions, and expanded delegation capabilities for security administration.

Together, Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator protect the content of the Active Directory against pollution and corruption, unify the administration of the Active Directory with other related business and information systems, audit and report on the Active Directory content and activity, and enable large-scale administrative changes to be made quickly. They also expand on Active Directory's powerful delegation capabilities to enable high volume, routine administration tasks to be safely performed by non-administrators in various departments.
